Random Notes on a Boring Day

A campus diary weaving together a metalworking placement, everyday frustrations and memories of relationships, with a side note about a small RSS tool written for Windows wallpapers.

I haven't updated the blog in a very, very, very long time… I'm unbelievably lazy…

I'm particularly bored today, so here are a few random notes…

Lately I've been on a metalworking placement, spending all day in the university workshop. I'm amazed that a lathe from 1957 is still going. Shenyang No. 1 Lathe Factory really did make first-rate products; it still works properly.

Apparently we're visiting the forging shop tomorrow. What would happen if my hand got crushed?

Because of the placement, I probably won't be able to help welcome the freshmen. At least I won't have to stand guard in the sun, but sadly, the mythical “freshman girls” will have nothing to do with me.

Then again, if those “freshman girls” are in our school, never mind. How could mere mortals comprehend the greatness of the women in our school?

As I type this sentence, Six-Dimensional Space won't open again. I wonder why it's so “reliable.” There must be some hidden secret.

I haven't been as focused on movies lately either. I'm either fast-forwarding or nodding off. My attention span really does seem worse than it used to be.

I'm trying something very difficult at the moment—what people commonly call pursuing a girl—even though the time before last ended in utter disaster.

I'm not sure whether “last time” even counts as an “attempt.” Judging by the outcome, it clearly doesn't.

Thinking back to that legendary “time before last” leaves me in tears at a loss for words. If I had the chance, I'd like to apologize once more. Sadly, I may never get that chance.

If I'd watched How I Met Your Mother in middle school instead of Friends—even just S01E01—perhaps I wouldn't have been quite so Mosby back then…

I wrote an RSS server for Windows Wallpaper. It's really just a simple scraper for wall.alphacoders.com. The GitHub repository is here: github.com/abc950309/wallpaper_rss.

I was too lazy to write a Readme either. It's code a beginner wrote in an hour, so don't expect anything beautiful. It's just meant to give others with the same need a starting point…

I really wish I could get around to cleaning up wallpaper_rss.

The End
